Senior Network Engineer – Fintech

About the role

Paymera is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain and optimise its network infrastructure. The role ensures secure, reliable and high-performance connectivity across office locations and remote users, covering network security, troubleshooting and infrastructure improvements. The position is based in the Free Zone, Damascus, with working hours 9:00-5:00 on Sunday to Thursday.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, manage and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs and wireless access points.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues and implement solutions to keep the network available and efficient.
• Implement network security measures such as access control lists, network segmentation and secure remote access.
• Support remote users and integrate the network with cloud-based and SaaS applications.
• Maintain accurate network documentation, configurations and topology diagrams.
• Coordinate with ISPs and external service providers to resolve connectivity issues and maintain service reliability.
• Perform routine maintenance, updates and infrastructure optimisation, and identify risks and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• 2-4 years of hands-on experience in network administration or engineering in an enterprise environment.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and good communication skills for working with internal teams and external providers.

Required skills

• Practical experience configuring and managing Cisco, MikroTik, Fortinet or equivalent equipment.
• Good knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, routing, switching and wireless networking.
• Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Understanding of network security principles and access control mechanisms.
