Vehicle Technician

About the role

The United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join its Transport Section in Amret al Faouar. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will ensure the reliability and safety of UN-owned civilian and military vehicles operating across the mission.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing and repairs on commercial vehicles, trucks, and engineering equipment according to manufacturers' standards.
• Conduct pre‑summer and winter inspections on all UN‑owned vehicles.
• Document all maintenance activities and produce detailed service reports.
• Diagnose faults, identify required parts, and execute corrective actions.
• Specialize in one or more systems such as automotive electrical, air‑conditioning, suspension, braking, air, or hydraulic systems.
• Utilize diagnostic tools for fault finding, quality control, road testing, and vehicle recovery.
• Modify vehicles to meet mission‑specific requirements, overhaul major assemblies, and fabricate components when needed.
• Assist in training and coaching junior mechanics.
• Carry out any additional duties assigned by the supervisor or Head of Unit/Section.
