Automation & AIOps Lead

About the role

The Automation & AIOps Lead will design, implement and govern the automation and AIOps strategy for a Managed Service Provider (MSP) across all operational domains. Based on‑site in Damascus, the role ensures that automation requirements, tooling specifications and AIOps capabilities are fully defined, validated and ready for Day‑1 launch, then continues to oversee ongoing performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a roadmap for automation across NOC, SOC, ITOC, field operations and performance management.
• Define automation requirements for fault detection, event correlation, ticket creation and remediation workflows.
• Specify AIOps platform use cases such as anomaly detection, QoS degradation prediction, predictive analytics and root‑cause analysis.
• Set integration requirements between AIOps, NMS, SIEM, ITSM, IT monitoring and OSS/BSS.
• Establish governance models for automation development, testing, change control and KPI measurement.
• Validate automation readiness, lead Operational Acceptance Testing and monitor post‑launch performance.
• Review and approve new automation use cases and AIOps model updates.
• Lead periodic governance reviews, drive corrective actions and ensure vendor contract compliance.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in telecommunications operations or network automation.
• Proven track record designing AIOps frameworks and automation strategies for NOC or SOC environments.
• Strong knowledge of AI/ML applications in network operations, including anomaly detection and predictive analytics.
• Familiarity with TM Forum Open APIs and ETSI ZSM reference architecture.
• Experience with greenfield or build‑to‑operate programs is a plus.
