Design Manager (Data Centre)

About the role

The Design Manager will lead the multi‑disciplinary design effort for Data Centre and Technical Building facilities in Damascus Governorate. Reporting to the Program Manager, you will ensure that all design outputs are technically compliant, fully coordinated, and delivered on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate design across architecture, civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, ELV/ICT and specialist systems.
• Develop and enforce the Design Management Plan, including review procedures, drawing conventions and transmittal protocols aligned with the BIM Execution Plan.
• Review High Level Designs, detailed designs, IFC drawings, specifications and calculations for compliance with client requirements and standards such as TIA‑942, EN 50600, ASHRAE A2, IEC 60364 and IEC 62040‑3.
• Manage design interfaces, resolve conflicts, and oversee the RFI/TQ and submittal processes.
• Chair coordination meetings, technical workshops and design freeze sessions with stakeholders.
• Monitor design progress, identify delays and implement recovery plans.
• Control design changes, maintain change registers and ensure proper variation orders.
• Oversee BIM coordination, clash detection and model quality assurance, ensuring LOD compliance.
• Coordinate design inputs for FAT, SAT and commissioning documentation.
• Prepare weekly design progress reports with KPI dashboards and action logs.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading multi‑disciplinary design teams for data centre or large‑scale technical facilities.
• Strong knowledge of international data‑centre standards (TIA‑942, EN 50600, ASHRAE A2, IEC 60364, IEC 62040‑3).
• Hands‑on experience with BIM processes, clash detection and LOD management.
• Ability to manage design interfaces, change control and stakeholder coordination.
