Document Controller – Damascus

About the role

The Document Controller will ensure accurate, organized, and secure management of all project documents throughout the lifecycle of telecom and construction projects in Damascus. You will support engineering, permitting, construction, HSE, QA, and management teams by maintaining robust document control systems and workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, organize and control all project documents, including drawings, permits, reports, BOQs, method statements, HSE files, QA/QC records, and correspondence.
• Maintain document control registers, logs and filing structures (both digital and physical) with proper version control and metadata.
• Receive, review and verify documents from contractors, consultants and internal teams before processing.
• Upload, track and maintain documents in ERP systems, client portals and internal databases.
• Distribute documents to stakeholders, track acknowledgements and monitor workflow approvals.
• Prepare weekly and monthly document control status reports for management and clients.
• Conduct periodic audits of document repositories and ensure compliance with client standards.
• Support project close‑out by preparing final documentation packages, as‑built records and handover files.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Management or related field.
• 3–6 years of document control experience in telecom, construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of document control procedures, workflows and standards.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems and client portals.
• Proficiency in document management platforms.
• Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel trackers.
• Digital filing and indexing capabilities.
