Fiber Network Planner – Damascus Based

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Fiber Network Planner to join our team in Damascus. The role focuses on designing, validating and documenting fiber network routes, topology, capacity and diversity to support client service requirements and downstream transport planning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive fiber network plans covering backbone, metro, access, inter‑site connectivity and PoP interconnections.
• Analyse existing fiber inventory, GIS records, duct data, ODF records and splice diagrams to identify gaps and constraints.
• Prepare route plans, fiber allocation, cable and core utilization views, ODF/patching requirements and diversity assessments.
• Coordinate with civil works, field survey, implementation, operations and vendor teams to validate routes, distances, feasibility and access.
• Ensure designs support DWDM, IP/MPLS, enterprise, wholesale and critical services.
• Define naming conventions, route identifiers, core assignments, splice references and documentation standards.
• Reconcile planned records with physical inventory, as‑built documentation and circuit data.
• Identify fiber risks such as single points of failure, capacity shortfalls or inaccurate records.
• Maintain planning trackers and deliver clean datasets for inventory updates and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecom or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in fiber network planning, OSP/ISP design, telecom rollout or fiber inventory engineering.
• Fluent in Arabic and English.
• Relevant certifications in fiber optic design/installation, FTTx/OSP planning or GIS are preferred.
