HEAT & Security Training Expert

About the role

The Sustainable Research and Development Center is looking for an experienced Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) and Security Training Expert to lead a new training assignment in Syria. The role combines classroom instruction, practical exercises, and field‑training components to prepare professionals for work in insecure or hostile settings.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the overall design, preparation, and delivery of the HEAT programme.
• Review and adapt the training curriculum, agenda, presentations, and exercises to ensure technical soundness and relevance.
• Ensure the training is participatory, scenario‑based, and complies with safety standards.
• Coordinate closely with a second HEAT/First Aid trainer and the SRD Center coordination team.
• Oversee both classroom‑based learning and dedicated field‑training activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering HEAT and security training in challenging environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a training team and manage programme logistics.
• Strong knowledge of safety and security standards applicable to hostile settings.
• Excellent facilitation and communication skills for diverse professional audiences.
