HR and Admin Assistant

About the role

The HR and Admin Assistant will support the Hama office of the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) in Syria, ensuring compliance with DRC procedures and providing day‑to‑day administrative support for both the office and community centres in Homs‑Hama.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, functional, and well‑maintained office environment.
• Oversee office maintenance, cleanliness, and facility repairs in line with DRC standards.
• Manage lease agreements, coordinate renewals, and act as the primary liaison with landlords for both Homs and Hama premises.
• Support HR processes, including staff onboarding, record keeping, and compliance with organisational policies.
• Assist with the preparation of action plans and translation of strategic objectives into daily tasks.

Required profile

• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
• Good communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
• Experience in office administration or HR support within an international or humanitarian setting.

Required skills

• Familiarity with office management procedures and lease administration.
• Understanding of HR compliance and documentation processes.
