ICT/ELV/Security Designer – Data Center Projects

About the role

The ICT/ELV/Security Designer will act on behalf of the PMO to independently review technical design deliverables for data‑center facilities in Damascus. The role ensures that all ICT, extra‑low‑voltage and security designs are technically sound, standards‑compliant and fully aligned with the project brief.

Key responsibilities

• Review and assess ICT, ELV, fire alarm, BMS and security design submissions at all stages (concept, schematic, detailed, IFC, shop drawings).
• Evaluate structured cabling packages, including horizontal and backbone layouts, patch panel schedules and cable containment drawings.
• Assess active network infrastructure designs, verifying core/distribution/access switching topology and DCIM connectivity meet redundancy and performance requirements.
• Review CCTV system designs for camera placement, coverage analysis, recording/storage architecture and NVR/VMS specifications.
• Evaluate access control designs, including reader locations, door schedules, controller topology and integration with building management systems.
• Check PA/VA, SMATV and other ELV system designs for conformance with scope, standards and cross‑system integration.
• Verify coordination with CSA and MEP packages, ensuring proper containment routing, equipment room provisions, power, earthing and EMI separation.
• Inspect BIM models and coordination reports for correct LOD, clash‑free routing and alignment with approved design intent.
• Track open review comments, assess contractor responses, maintain a live register of technical issues and attend design review meetings as the PMO technical representative.

Required profile

• Proven experience reviewing ICT, ELV and security designs for data‑center or large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of relevant international standards and ability to ensure design compliance.
• Familiarity with BIM coordination processes and ability to interpret LOD and clash‑detection reports.
• Excellent analytical skills to produce clear, actionable review comments within agreed timeframes.
