Planning Engineer

About the role

The Planning Engineer is responsible for implementing and monitoring the planning processes for engineering design stages, ensuring alignment between design and construction activities. The role coordinates procurement, design approvals, and stakeholder interfaces to keep the project on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Provide project planning and scheduling support, leading a small team of planners.
• Develop and maintain project schedules in line with the work breakdown structure.
• Produce schedules for pre‑design, design, tender, procurement, construction and completion phases.
• Analyze resource requirements and create manpower, material and submittal histograms.
• Update progress reports, perform “what‑if” analyses and present forecasts to project managers.
• Review subcontractor schedules and recommend corrective actions.
• Participate in coordination meetings and support HSE initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals and planning principles.
• Familiarity with local and international construction standards.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and communicate schedule impacts.

Required skills

• Advanced Primavera P6 (or similar scheduling software).
• ERP systems experience, preferably SAP functional modules.
