Production Technologist

About the role

The Production Technologist will optimise oil and gas production and well performance, ensuring safe and efficient field operations while maximising hydrocarbon recovery. The role blends production surveillance, well‑performance analysis, artificial‑lift optimisation, forecasting and on‑site troubleshooting in close partnership with Operations, Reservoir, Drilling, Maintenance, HSE and service providers.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily production data, identify losses, constraints and under‑performing wells.
• Analyse well tests, pressures, temperatures, flow rates and fluid properties to diagnose production issues.
• Recommend and evaluate changes to chokes, operating conditions and artificial‑lift systems such as ESP, gas lift, rod pump and PCP.
• Support well interventions, workovers, stimulation, scale removal, sand control and water shut‑off activities.
• Prepare production forecasts, engineering studies and optimisation recommendations; assist with commissioning and restoration work.
• Maintain accurate well‑performance data and coordinate solutions with cross‑functional teams and service partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8‑12 years of production‑engineering or operations experience with strong field exposure.
• Proven experience in production optimisation, well‑performance analysis, artificial lift and well intervention.
• Fluency in Arabic and English with strong analytical, technical‑writing and collaboration abilities.
