Project Director – Airport EPC Programme

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the end‑to‑end EPC delivery of a major airport construction programme in Damascus. You will act as the senior client‑facing representative on site, overseeing engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning phases.

Key responsibilities

• Lead full EPC delivery of airport terminal, airside and airfield works.
• Coordinate design, procurement and construction teams to ensure seamless execution.
• Manage project controls, budgets, schedules, subcontractors, vendors and risk throughout the lifecycle.
• Maintain relationships with the client, consultants, EPC contractors and aviation regulatory authorities.
• Drive HSE culture and ensure compliance with international and local aviation construction standards.
• Represent the project at executive and stakeholder level, including government and regulatory bodies.
• Mentor and manage a large multidisciplinary on‑site team.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in major construction/infrastructure projects with hands‑on EPC delivery.
• Proven experience in airport or aviation infrastructure (terminals, airside, airfield).
• Track record as Project Director or Project Executive on large‑scale EPC projects (USD 250M+ preferred).
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Professional accreditation such as PMP, MRICS or CEng is preferred.
• Experience working in the Middle East and willingness to be based on‑site in Damascus.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and cross‑cultural communication skills.
