Safety and Security Consultant

About the role

Caritas Switzerland (CACH) seeks an experienced Safety and Security Consultant to support its Syrian partner network. The consultant will review existing safety and security policies, identify gaps, develop new procedures, and build the capacity of the newly hired security focal point.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse current safety and security policies and procedures of the local partner.
• Identify gaps and recommend improvements aligned with international best practices.
• Draft new policies, procedures, and guidelines tailored to the local context.
• Design a comprehensive safety and security training programme covering threat awareness, emergency response, communication protocols, and incident reporting.
• Deliver training sessions to partner staff and ensure effective implementation.
• Provide recommendations on equipment, measures, and resources to strengthen security posture.
• Review and suggest enhancements to the organization’s emergency response plan.

Required profile

• Proven experience in safety and security management within humanitarian or development settings.
• Strong knowledge of international safety standards and best practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively with local partners and train staff.
• Excellent analytical and report‑writing skills.
