WASH and Shelter Program Coordinator

About the role

The WASH, Shelter and NFI Program Coordinator will lead the strategic design, coordination and quality assurance of water, sanitation and hygiene, shelter and non‑food item interventions for ONSUR in Damascus. This is a five‑month fixed‑term position with the possibility of extension, reporting to the Program Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Develop strategic designs for WASH, shelter and NFI interventions that align with ONSUR’s objectives.
• Coordinate implementation activities with field teams, partners and local authorities.
• Ensure that all activities meet established quality standards throughout the project cycle.
• Monitor progress, collect data and prepare regular reports on programme activities and outcomes.
• Support procurement, logistics and distribution of non‑food items in line with programme needs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of programme processes and documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in coordinating humanitarian WASH or shelter programmes.
• Ability to work in a conflict‑affected environment and adapt to rapidly changing conditions.
• Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
• Willingness to be based in Damascus for the duration of the contract.
