Core Network Design Manager

About the role

The Core Network Design Manager leads architecture and detailed design activities across IP/MPLS, DWDM transport, International Gateway (IGW) and Landing Station domains. The role ensures scalable, resilient network designs that comply with telecom standards and support modernization initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the creation and review of high‑level and low‑level designs, topology diagrams and integration plans for core network domains.
• Define architecture standards, resiliency models, redundancy mechanisms and routing frameworks.
• Conduct topology studies, traffic analysis, routing optimisation and backbone scalability assessments.
• Design MPLS backbone solutions including BGP, OSPF, IS‑IS, Segment Routing, MPLS‑TE, EVPN, QoS, multicast and VPN services.
• Lead DWDM/OTN architecture design, covering ROADM, optical protection, long‑haul transport and backbone evolution.
• Review IGW and submarine cable integration designs, validate vendor solutions and technical submissions.
• Participate in RFI/RFP technical evaluations and ensure alignment with long‑term network strategy.
• Provide technical leadership to engineering teams during design and implementation phases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical, Computer Engineering or related field.
• 10–15 years of experience in telecom core network design, architecture or transport engineering.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Required skills

• IP/MPLS, DWDM, OTN, IGW and submarine cable integration.
