Fundamental Planning Lead – OSP Fiber Networks

About the role

The Fundamental Planning Lead will own the end‑to‑end design of fibre network routes, topology, capacity and splicing plans, ensuring they meet service, transport and IP planning requirements. You will work closely with civil, survey, implementation and operations teams to deliver accurate, implementation‑ready fibre records.

Key responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive fibre network plans covering backbone, metro, access, inter‑site connectivity, route diversity and PoP/site interconnections.
• Analyse existing fibre inventory, GIS data, duct routes, ODF records, splice diagrams and field surveys to identify gaps and constraints.
• Prepare route plans, fibre allocation, cable utilisation, ODF/patching requirements and diversity assessments.
• Coordinate with civil works, field survey, implementation, operations and vendor teams to validate routes, distances, feasibility and access.
• Ensure plans support DWDM, IP/MPLS, enterprise, wholesale and critical services.
• Define naming conventions, route identifiers, core assignments, splice references and documentation standards.
• Reconcile planned records with physical inventory, as‑built documentation and circuit data.
• Identify fibre risks such as single points of failure, capacity shortfalls or inaccurate records.
• Maintain planning trackers and deliver clean datasets for inventory updates and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Telecom or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience in fibre network planning, OSP/ISP design, telecom rollout or fibre inventory engineering.
• Fluent in English and Arabic (mandatory).
