About the role

UCK JV EPC is looking for an experienced HSE Manager to lead health, safety and environmental management across its CCGT, conventional power and PV projects in Syria.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the project HSE function and promote a Zero Harm culture
  • Implement the HSE Management System, procedures and risk registers
  • Oversee risk assessments, JSAs and critical controls for high-risk activities such as lifting, excavation, work at height, confined spaces, electrical and hot work, and SIMOPS
  • Enforce the Permit to Work system, with stop-work authority
  • Manage Syria-specific risks, including UXO/ERW clearance, site security and emergency preparedness
  • Manage subcontractor HSE performance and build a competent HSE team
  • Ensure ESIA/ESMP and IFC/World Bank EHS compliance
  • Lead incident investigations, audits, inspections and HSE reporting (KPIs)

Required profile

  • Experience leading HSE on power and renewable energy projects
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001, IFC Performance Standards, Syrian legislation and employer requirements
