Livelihoods Coordinator

About the role

The Livelihoods Coordinator will provide strategic leadership for the Syrian Arab Red Crescent’s (SARC) livelihoods portfolio, guiding the transition from project‑based work to a sustainable, institutionally anchored programme that supports recovery, resilience and economic security across Syria.

Key responsibilities

• Shape and advance SARC’s livelihoods vision, positioning and programme delivery.
• Provide high‑level technical leadership to improve programme quality and institutional capacity.
• Design and oversee scalable, market‑based and innovative livelihoods interventions, including agriculture, livestock, micro‑enterprise and cash‑voucher assistance.
• Coordinate closely with Movement partners (IFRC, ICRC, other National Societies) to ensure alignment, collaboration and effective resource mobilisation.
• Travel regularly to field locations to monitor implementation and support field teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian livelihoods or economic recovery programming.
• Strong understanding of the Syrian context and protracted crisis environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑stakeholder partnerships and manage complex programmes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
