MEAL Coordinator – Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning

About the role

The Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Coordinator will join the MERL team of the Syria Education Programme II (SEP II) to provide technical oversight of monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning activities. Reporting to the MERL Director, the Coordinator ensures that field data are validated, analysed and turned into actionable evidence for programme improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Operationalise the MERL strategy by managing technical monitoring and evaluation processes.
• Consolidate, validate and analyse data collected by field teams.
• Track progress against the results framework and logframe indicators.
• Review and refine data collection tools and ensure high‑quality reporting outputs.
• Provide technical guidance to partners on MERL plans and support the Research and Learning Manager in documenting lessons learned.
• Produce evidence‑based reports and analyses for decision‑making.
• Supervise field staff and coordinate closely with field‑focused coordinators to align implementation and reporting.
• Uphold Chemonics’ code of ethics and Manahel’s safeguarding standards, fostering a culture of safety and confidentiality.

Required profile

• Experience in technical monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning within humanitarian or education programmes.
• Proven ability to validate and analyse field data and translate findings into programme recommendations.
• Supervisory experience and strong collaboration skills with field teams and partners.
• Commitment to safeguarding principles and ethical conduct.
