Acceptance Handover Manager – Data Centre/Facility

About the role

The Acceptance Handover Manager will lead the planning, management and control of the acceptance and handover process for a data centre and technical building project in Damascus. Acting as the focal point between construction, testing & commissioning and operations, the role ensures that all systems are inspected, tested and verified against contractual and design requirements before the facility is handed over.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage the acceptance and handover plan, defining stages, criteria, responsibilities and documentation for each system.
• Review contractor testing and commissioning plans, method statements and Inspection & Test Plans to ensure alignment with acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate and witness factory, site and integrated system tests for power, cooling, fire detection, suppression and ELV/BMS systems.
• Manage snagging and punch‑list processes, track progress and verify close‑out of defects.
• Control compilation and review of handover documentation, including test records, calibration certificates, warranties, As‑Built drawings and O&M manuals.
• Chair acceptance and handover meetings, track actions and prepare acceptance certificates, handover packs and close‑out reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years experience in construction, testing & commissioning or handover of major projects, with at least 5 years in data‑centre or mission‑critical facility acceptance.
• Strong knowledge of data‑centre critical systems and their testing/acceptance requirements.
• Recognised commissioning or project management certification (e.g., CxA, PMP) is an advantage.
• Fluent in Arabic and strong English communication skills.
