GCF Project Manager - National, Damascus

About the role

The Green Climate Fund (GCF) Project Manager provides country-level coordination and project management support for the implementation of the GCF Project Preparation Facility (PPF) and the preparation of the full GCF project for Syria. The post is based in Damascus, with travel to relevant locations as required, and is a fixed-term position of 9 months. It reports to the Operations Director and coordinates with Save the Children, the Government of Syria, ministries, local partners, consultants and technical advisors.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate PPF activities and assessments at country level according to the approved workplan, budget and timelines, and maintain a detailed implementation tracker.
• Facilitate engagement with government ministries, authorities and national stakeholders, including NDA, and support the preparation of agendas, presentations and documentation.
• Organise and run workshops, consultations and technical meetings, and document their outputs.
• Mobilise and manage consultants and technical experts, monitoring their workplans and deliverables.
• Coordinate data collection, evidence gathering and knowledge management, and maintain a tracker of data sources and findings.
• Monitor progress, risks and issues, prepare internal progress reports, and support financial and administrative tracking.
• Handle logistics and administrative arrangements for workshops, consultations and field missions.
