HR Operations and Benefits Specialist

About the role

The HR Operations and Benefits Specialist will lead and manage core HR operational processes for HiHFAD in Aleppo, ensuring accurate HRIS administration, payroll, benefits, and compliance with organisational policies and Syrian labour law. The role upholds safeguarding and gender‑equity‑inclusion (GESI) principles across all HR activities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), guaranteeing data accuracy, security and integration with other platforms.
• Maintain employee records, contracts and personnel documentation in both digital and physical formats.
• Generate operational HR reports on headcount, contract status, turnover and leave tracking.
• Coordinate with Finance to process monthly payroll accurately and on time.
• Administer benefits programmes, including health insurance, leave entitlements and staff allowances.
• Keep entitlement and benefits records up‑to‑date, aligning with HR policies and donor requirements.
• Support periodic review of salary scales and benefits packages using benchmarking data.
• Ensure HR administrative procedures comply with organisational policies, local labour regulations and safeguarding standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HR operations, payroll and benefits administration.
• Familiarity with HRIS management and data security best practices.
• Knowledge of Syrian labour law and donor compliance requirements.
• Commitment to safeguarding, gender‑equity‑inclusion and ethical HR practices.
