Information Systems Officer – ICT Education Project (Daily Paid)

About the role

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) seeks an Information Systems Officer to support its Education Project in the field office in Syria. This daily‑paid position focuses on managing both on‑premises and cloud‑based IT services for schools.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, administer and support enterprise on‑premises and cloud systems under the Education Microsoft tenant, including messaging, collaboration and content management platforms.
• Manage networking services (LAN, wireless, WAN) and Internet connectivity for schools.
• Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and resolve or escalate system, functional and operational issues.
• Provide 2nd‑level support for applications and services, handling user account issues for students, teachers and staff.
• Monitor, test and analyze system performance, schedule patches, upgrades and procure necessary software.
• Generate periodic performance and utilization reports.
• Develop tools and templates using Microsoft Office 365 or similar platforms.
• Create and maintain documentation covering system topologies, configurations, processes and inventory records.

Required profile

• Reports to the Head of Field Information Management and Technology.
• Supervises a Service Desk Officer.
