Infrastructure, Cloud & Cybersecurity Architect

About the role

We are seeking a senior Infrastructure, Cloud & Cybersecurity Architect to define the technology foundation for a new fibre network operator in Syria. The role will be based on‑site in Damascus and will shape the cloud, hosting, security and integration strategy for the entire programme.

Key responsibilities

• Define the overall infrastructure, cloud, hosting and cybersecurity strategy, establishing cloud‑first, resilience‑by‑design and security‑by‑design principles.
• Design target architectures for cloud platforms, compute, storage, networking, identity, security, monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, DevSecOps and observability.
• Assess and select appropriate cloud, hybrid‑cloud and hosting models and evaluate providers, managed‑service and security vendors.
• Develop the cybersecurity architecture, control framework, governance model and SOC requirements.
• Create the identity and access management (IAM) strategy and define API security, middleware and integration platform standards.
• Prepare RFIs/RFPs, define service levels, KPIs, acceptance criteria and the implementation roadmap.
• Establish operating models, governance forums and vendor‑management frameworks for infrastructure and security.

Required profile

• Strong experience in infrastructure, cloud and cybersecurity architecture at a senior level.
• Proven expertise designing hybrid‑cloud, network and identity solutions for large‑scale telecom projects.
• Demonstrated ability to develop governance, risk and compliance frameworks for security operations.
• Excellent analytical and documentation skills to produce procurement and implementation artefacts.
