Lighting Designer

About the role

We are seeking a creative Lighting Designer to join Siera Light’s team in Damascus. In this position you will be responsible for developing innovative lighting concepts that enhance the aesthetic and functional quality of residential, commercial and architectural projects. You will work closely with architects, interior designers and clients to translate their vision into effective lighting solutions that meet both design intent and technical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive lighting concepts and design proposals tailored to each project’s spatial, functional and budgetary requirements.
• Perform lighting calculations, select appropriate fixtures, luminaires and control systems, and ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
• Prepare detailed technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, calculation reports and presentation materials using industry‑standard software.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—architects, interior designers, engineers and clients—to integrate lighting design seamlessly into overall project development.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging lighting technologies, trends and best practices, and incorporate innovative solutions where appropriate.

Required profile

• Proven experience in architectural and interior lighting design, demonstrated through a portfolio of completed projects.
• Strong creative sensibility combined with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to interpret client needs and coordinate with various stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency in DIALux evo for lighting calculations and simulations.
• Proficiency in 3ds Max for 3‑dimensional visualisation and rendering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for drafting and technical drawing production.
• Solid knowledge of lighting fixtures, control systems and the principles of illumination engineering.
