Loan Officer – National Position

About the role
The Loan Officer will lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of financial products for NEF's project in Syria. Reporting to the Loan Coordinator, the role bridges potential borrowers, partners, and the organization to ensure effective loan delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Review and verify loan applications for completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare applicant lists and coordinate field visits with Field Associates.
- Develop and execute detailed workplans for site visits and client registration.
- Conduct social verifications and supervise monitoring visits.
- Track overdue borrowers, follow up promptly, and report to supervisors.
- Provide technical guidance to Field Associates on visit protocols and data collection.
- Maintain communication with borrowers, ensuring adherence to credit policies, SOPs, and compliance requirements.
- Assess financial eligibility and loan feasibility in collaboration with the Loan Coordinator.
- Oversee loan restructuring and ensure compliance with donor, internal, and local regulations.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in loan processing, credit management, or financial product development.
- Strong understanding of lending practices, credit assessment, and documentation.
- Knowledge of financial compliance, risk management, and relevant regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure and travel frequently to field locations.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with loan management systems.
