Loan Officer – National Position

About the role

The Near East Foundation is seeking a dedicated Loan Officer to lead the design and evolution of financial products for its national project in Aleppo. Reporting to the Loan Coordinator, you will act as a bridge between customers, partners and NEF, ensuring the implementation of structuring study recommendations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and verify loan applications for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare applicant lists and coordinate field visits with Field Associates.
• Develop detailed workplans for visits together with the Center Manager and Loan Coordinator.
• Conduct social verifications and supervise site monitoring visits during client registration and loan collection.
• Monitor overdue borrowers, follow up promptly, and report to supervisors.
• Provide technical guidance to Field Associates on visit protocols and data collection.
• Maintain communication with borrowers, ensure compliance with credit policies, SOPs, and local regulations.
• Assess financial eligibility and loan feasibility, oversee restructuring when needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration or related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in loan processing, credit management, or financial product development.
• Strong understanding of lending practices, credit assessment, and documentation procedures.
• Knowledge of financial compliance regulations and risk management standards.
• Ability to work under pressure, travel frequently to field locations, and communicate effectively.

Required skills

• Familiarity with loan management systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and relevant financial software.
