Operational Support Coach

About the role

The Operational Support Coach will work within the Service Delivery team to provide one‑to‑one coaching for engineers across the allocated area. Using MIS reports and the FPQS system, you will help new engineers develop safety‑focused, high‑quality working habits and support the rollout of new processes, equipment and licences.

Key responsibilities

• Promote a positive, professional image of the department and adhere to company policies.
• Raise, track and resolve non‑conformance reports.
• Coach engineers on safety, quality and effectiveness to maximise performance.
• Provide regular feedback to the Management team on coaching outcomes.
• Record visits, issues and resolutions using the FPQS system.
• Support new engineers in adapting to the working environment and developing product knowledge.
• Deliver local training workshops, either in‑field or at the Training School.
• Carry out field‑based assessments, accreditation programmes and post‑training evaluations as directed.
• Assist engineers with on‑the‑day technical assistance and customer commitments.

Required profile

• Experience delivering one‑to‑one coaching or mentoring in an operational environment.
• Familiarity with network engineering products such as copper phone lines, broadband, FTTP and PCP.
• Ability to travel within the allocated area and work flexible hours (8 am‑8 pm, Monday‑Friday).
• Commitment to safety and adherence to organisational values and procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the FPQS system for recording visits and issues.
• Ability to interpret and act on MIS reports.
