QC Inspector – MEP

About the role

The QC Inspector – MEP will lead quality control inspections and testing for all mechanical, electrical and plumbing works within a data‑centre and technical building project in Damascus. The role ensures that critical MEP systems are installed, tested and commissioned in strict compliance with approved drawings, specifications, Inspection & Test Plans and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the project Quality Control Plan for MEP installation, testing and pre‑commissioning.
• Review IFC drawings, specifications and manufacturer guidelines to verify compliance before and during construction.
• Conduct inspections and witness activities according to approved ITPs for all MEP systems.
• Document pre‑commissioning and commissioning tests, comparing results with testing procedures and FAT records.
• Inspect incoming equipment deliveries for conformance, damage and correct tagging.
• Verify earthing and bonding installations and perform earth resistance testing.
• Witness pressure testing of chilled water, refrigerant, compressed air and domestic water systems.
• Issue Non‑Conformance Reports, track corrective actions and ensure close‑out.
• Maintain complete QC records, test reports, certificates and photographic evidence.
• Prepare daily QC logs and contribute to weekly status reports for the Site Manager.
• Support the compilation of As‑Built drawings, O&M manuals, commissioning records and warranty certificates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of QC inspection experience on MEP construction projects, with at least 4 years on data‑centre or mission‑critical infrastructure.
• Proven experience witnessing electrical tests (insulation resistance, earth continuity, HV withstand) and mechanical tests (pressure, air and water balancing).
• Familiarity with UPS, battery systems and generator set commissioning.
