Senior Electrical Project Engineer

About the role

The Senior Electrical Project Engineer leads the planning, design and delivery of electrical projects within MEP operations. This role ensures all installations comply with relevant codes and standards while optimizing system performance and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of electrical projects, defining scope, objectives and deliverables aligned with client requirements.
• Provide technical expertise in electrical system design, guaranteeing compliance with industry codes, standards and regulations.
• Develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring cost‑effective procurement and profitability.
• Mentor and manage project teams of engineers, designers and technicians, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
• Serve as the primary client contact, delivering progress updates and resolving issues to maintain satisfaction.
• Implement quality‑assurance processes, conduct inspections and ensure safety of electrical installations.
• Create and track project schedules, proactively addressing risks and delays.
• Administer contracts, subcontractor agreements and change orders, ensuring legal compliance.
• Identify project risks, assess impact and develop mitigation strategies.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and support HSE initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading electrical projects within MEP or construction environments.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to manage budgets, schedules and contract administration.
• Excellent client communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Leadership experience with mentoring of engineering teams.
• Demonstrated risk assessment and mitigation capabilities.
• Familiarity with health, safety and environmental (HSE) practices.
