Site Engineer – Civil (Daily Paid, North Area)

About the role

UNRWA is seeking a Civil Site Engineer for a daily‑paid opportunity in the North Area of its field operations in Syria. The incumbent will report to the Field/Area Construction Engineer or Field/Area Maintenance Engineer and will oversee construction and maintenance activities on site.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day construction/maintenance activities and ensure works comply with contract documents, quality, health & safety, and gender requirements.
• Monitor material quality and workmanship, conduct required tests and inspections, including at manufacturers’ sites.
• Measure and verify quantities of executed work, review contractor’s interim and final payment requests and certify them.
• Ensure correct levelling and surveying of the site, check existing utilities for conflicts and resolve technical issues.
• Review and record working, shop and as‑built drawings, foundation levels, strata encountered and any deviations.
• Prepare and discuss variation orders, extensions of time and other contract changes, recording additional work costs.
• Maintain records in the Facilities Management Information System (FMIS) including forms, payments, variation orders, progress, and test results.
