Education and Protection Program Manager

About the role

The Education and Protection Program Manager at Ataa Relief leads the design, implementation and monitoring of education and protection programmes in Aleppo. This full‑time, on‑site position works closely with communities, partners and internal teams to deliver safe, inclusive learning environments that respond to local needs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and monitor education and protection programmes aligned with organisational strategy.
• Lead programme design, coordinate curriculum development and supervise field teams.
• Ensure activities comply with relevant standards, guidelines and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external partners, preparing reports and documentation.
• Manage budgets, resources and track programme performance against targets.
• Assess risks, promote safe learning environments and facilitate capacity‑building for staff and educators.
• Engage community stakeholders to strengthen inclusive and protective educational services.

Required profile

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects with strong programme management and development skills.
• Expertise in education and curriculum development, including designing and adapting learning materials.
• Strong communication skills for coordination with teams, partners and community stakeholders.
• Experience in humanitarian or non‑profit settings, preferably in education or protection programmes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, International Development or a related field; advanced degree is an asset.
• Leadership and team supervision experience, capable of working in demanding field conditions.
• Competence in monitoring and evaluation, reporting and basic budget management.
• Fluency in relevant local languages and good command of English.
