Lead Architect - Airport EPC Construction

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Architect to head the architectural design coordination and construction delivery for a major airport EPC project in Damascus, Syria. The role involves overseeing all architectural aspects from concept through to final handover, ensuring compliance with international standards and project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all architectural activities during design and construction phases.
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and technical submissions.
• Coordinate architectural works with civil, structural, MEP, interior, landscape, and specialist disciplines.
• Monitor construction works for compliance with approved designs, specifications, quality, and schedule.
• Lead technical meetings and resolve design, coordination, and constructability issues.
• Collaborate with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and project management teams.
• Support QA/QC inspections, snagging, completion, and final handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture; professional registration preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of architectural experience on large‑scale construction projects.
• At least 8 years in a Lead or Senior Architect role, preferably on airport, aviation, or major infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience coordinating Architectural, Structural, MEP, Interior, Landscape, and specialist systems.
• Strong knowledge of architectural detailing, façade, finishes, materials, and construction methodologies.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Revit.
• Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM).
