Remote Accountant – Serve UAE & KSA Clients

About the role

Ousol is seeking a remote Accountant based in Damascus to support small‑to‑medium client files across the UAE and KSA. The role involves managing day‑to‑day accounting tasks, supporting month‑end closing, and preparing draft financial statements for senior review.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, post, and review daily and monthly accounting entries.
• Record supplier bills, customer invoices, payments, receipts, and expense transactions.
• Perform bank reconciliations and follow up on reconciling items.
• Review accounts receivable and accounts payable balances.
• Prepare accruals, pre‑payments, and monthly adjustment entries.
• Support payroll processing based on HR‑provided data, including payroll entries and deductions.
• Assist with monthly closing for assigned client files.
• Prepare trial balance reviews and basic account analysis.
• Draft financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, supporting schedules) for senior review.
• Coordinate with senior accountants on missing documents, unusual transactions, or accounting issues.
• Prepare files and schedules for VAT, audit, and management reporting support.
• Use cloud accounting systems as required, under guidance from senior team.
• Maintain organized client files and meet monthly reporting deadlines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and monthly closing procedures.
• Experience with bank reconciliations, AP, AR, accruals, pre‑payments, and financial statement preparation.
• Good English communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple client files, shifting priorities, and deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and capable of identifying accounting issues.
