Syria National Coordinator – Part‑time Consultancy

About the role

The International Rescue Committee, in partnership with Moving Minds Alliance, seeks a part‑time Syria National Coordinator to lead coordination, facilitation and strategic guidance for early childhood development (ECD) initiatives across Syria. The consultant will work closely with MMA and IRC teams to ensure alignment of technical inputs such as monitoring, evaluation, communications, research and fundraising.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate inter‑ministerial and multi‑stakeholder efforts to strengthen Syria’s ECD system.
• Facilitate strategic advocacy and resource mobilisation for early health, nutrition and learning services.
• Provide technical guidance on monitoring, evaluation, communications, research and fundraising activities.
• Support the revision and implementation of the national ECD strategy in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour.
• Prepare regular progress reports and deliverables for the grant‑funded project.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian coordination or programme management, preferably in early childhood or education sectors.
• Strong understanding of Syrian context, including post‑conflict challenges and humanitarian response mechanisms.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with international and local partners.

Required skills

• Experience with monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) frameworks.
• Competence in communications, research and fundraising support.
