Accounts Receivable Accountant

About the role

The Accounts Receivable Accountant manages the full spectrum of receivables activities, ensuring accurate billing, timely collections, and proper reconciliation of customer accounts. This role supports the finance team by handling discounts, refunds, commissions, and reporting on collection performance.

Key responsibilities

• Record discounts and sales adjustments on customer invoices accurately and promptly.
• Match accounts receivable sub‑ledger accounts with the general ledger for reconciliation.
• Issue customer refunds, returns, and deposit reversals in line with company policies.
• Process customer payments, credit memos, and claims efficiently.
• Calculate sales and broker commissions based on reviewed sales data.
• Verify contracts and agreements to ensure correct billing terms.
• Post revenue invoices and apply payments to customer accounts.
• Follow up on aged receivable balances and implement collection strategies.
• Conduct budget checks on receivable transactions and assist with financial reporting.
• Generate receivable reports and provide insights on collection performance to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CMA or similar certification is a plus.
• Proven experience in accounts receivable and credit management.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
