Chief Accounting Officer

About the role

The Chief Accounting Officer leads core accounting operations, ensuring the company’s books are accurate, timely, and compliant with IFRS standards. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this hands‑on role supports management reporting and decision‑making, with a focus on real estate and construction accounting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, post journal entries, and oversee monthly, quarterly and year‑end close processes.
• Prepare and review recurring and adjusting journal entries with proper documentation.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure intercompany transaction accuracy.
• Ensure all accounting activities comply with company policies, chart of accounts, and IFRS.
• Process supplier invoices, manage AP aging, run payment proposals, and maintain petty‑cash controls.
• Generate customer invoices, record receipts, maintain AR aging, and follow up overdue accounts.
• Oversee project cost accounting, accurately coding contractor invoices, consultant fees and direct overheads.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented professional with deep expertise in real estate and construction accounting.
• Strong technical accounting background capable of managing complex month‑end close cycles.
• Hands‑on attitude with the ability to work independently and collaborate with procurement, project and sales teams.
