Dental Surgeon – Daily Paid Opportunity (Damascus & South Area)

About the role

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) is seeking a qualified Dental Surgeon to provide oral health services to registered Palestine refugees in Damascus and the surrounding south area. This is a daily‑paid opportunity working within UNRWA health centres.

Key responsibilities

• Perform periodic oral examinations of school children and apply preventive measures such as pit‑and‑fissure sealants.
• Conduct oral health screenings for preschoolers, school‑age children, pregnant women, and patients with non‑communicable diseases.
• Provide dental care to refugees, including minor surgeries and dental X‑ray imaging.
• Maintain strict infection‑control procedures in the dental clinic.
• Support evaluation of the oral health programme through data collection and surveys.
• Train Maternal and Child Health staff on preventive oral health programmes for mothers and children.
• Ensure proper maintenance of dental supplies, instruments, and equipment.
• Promote oral hygiene and raise community awareness about oral health.

Required profile

• Qualified dental surgeon with relevant professional registration.
• Experience delivering dental services in community or humanitarian settings is preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure and collaborate with multidisciplinary health teams.
