General Manager – Boutique Hotel

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on General Manager to lead Noord House through its pre‑opening and daily operations. The role combines professional hotel management standards with the personal touch required for a small boutique property in Damascus.

Key responsibilities

• Lead pre‑opening and opening, establishing operational systems, procedures, standards and service culture.
• Oversee the three guest suites, restaurant, specialty coffee bar, courtyard and guest areas on a daily basis.
• Recruit, train, schedule, supervise and develop the entire Noord House team.
• Manage reservations, room inventory, rates, occupancy and relationships with booking platforms.
• Control budgets, payroll, purchasing, revenue, cash flow and produce regular operational reports.
• Maintain strong relationships with local suppliers, tour operators and other hospitality partners.
• Ensure compliance with local licensing, safety, hygiene and employment regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of hotel management experience in Damascus, preferably in boutique or luxury concepts.
• Proven ability to lead a small, entrepreneurial team and deliver a warm, personal guest experience.
• Highly organised, detail‑oriented and comfortable solving problems hands‑on.
• Fluent Arabic and professionally proficient English; additional languages a plus.
