Medical Coordinator (F/M) – Syria

About the role

The Medical Coordinator will design, implement, adapt and report on the quality medical program activities for Médecins du Monde’s mission in Syria. The role ensures relevance and high‑quality delivery of all medical activities, with a strong emphasis on health data analysis, and provides technical supervision to the medical team and implementing partners.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, adapt and monitor medical program activities across three health facilities.
• Lead health data collection, analysis and reporting to inform program decisions.
• Ensure quality and relevance of medical services, including outpatient care, vaccination, nutrition and reproductive health.
• Supervise and support the medical team (MdM staff and implementing partners) on technical matters.
• Contribute to the country medical strategy together with the General Coordinator and other advisors.
• Coordinate with humanitarian actors, Ministry of Health and INGOs to align interventions.
• Participate in budgeting, resource planning and procurement of medical supplies.
• Monitor compliance with governance, salary scales and monitoring systems.

Required profile

• Medical background (physician, public health or equivalent) with experience in program management.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing health programs in humanitarian or fragile settings.
• Strong ability to analyse health data and produce actionable reports.
• Experience supervising multidisciplinary medical teams.
• Familiarity with the Syrian health system, NGOs and coordination mechanisms is an advantage.
