Pharmacist

About the role

The Independent Doctors Association (IDA) is seeking a qualified Pharmacist to manage the pharmacy unit at its primary health centre in Abu Khashab, Northern Deir Alzoor. You will ensure safe, secure, and efficient handling of medicines and related supplies in a humanitarian setting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain proper functioning of the pharmacy, including security, accessibility, safety, and storage.
• Implement and update the storage card system to avoid stockouts and protect drug inventories.
• Calculate monthly orders (monthly consumption + safe stock – remaining quantity) and submit inventory reports.
• Conduct quality‑assurance procedures such as temperature control, hygiene, and pest control.
• Provide medicines to the health team promptly and manage drug delivery documentation.
• Support medical waste management in line with regulations and supervise cleaning staff.
• Report security concerns, infection risks, or other issues to the facility manager.
• Uphold patient confidentiality, dignity, and humanitarian protection principles.
• Perform any other duties within your experience as assigned.

Required profile

• Certificate in Pharmacy.
• Minimum five years of experience in pharmacy management or a similar role.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Capacity to work effectively under pressure.
