Social Worker

About the role

The Independent Doctors Association (IDA) is seeking a Social Worker to deliver psychological services to displaced communities in the Bab Alnour area of Northern Aleppo, Syria. The role supports individuals affected by conflict‑induced displacement, providing immediate psychological aid and ongoing counseling.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver first‑line psychological assistance to beneficiaries during waves of displacement.
• Provide counseling and support for individuals seeking to quit smoking, alcohol, or drug use.
• Collaborate with IDA health and nutrition teams to integrate psychosocial care into broader humanitarian programmes.
• Maintain accurate records of interventions and report outcomes to programme managers.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering psychological services in humanitarian or emergency settings.
• Ability to work with internally displaced persons (IDPs) and host‑community members.
• Strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity.
