About the role

The Advocacy and Communications Coordinator supports the DRC Syria Country Office in promoting DRC as a credible humanitarian and development actor. The role focuses on influencing decision‑makers and stakeholders within Syria by identifying strategic advocacy opportunities and crafting evidence‑based messaging.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop strategic advocacy and communications opportunities in the Syrian context.
• Produce clear, evidence‑based messages that position DRC effectively with policymakers, donors, and partners.
• Contribute to policy analysis and the design of advocacy initiatives.
• Coordinate and implement advocacy and communications activities in collaboration with programme teams.
• Guide DRC’s strategic positioning and ensure alignment with overall humanitarian objectives.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of humanitarian and displacement issues, particularly in Syria.
• Experience in advocacy, policy analysis, and communications within an international NGO setting.
• Ability to work closely with programme teams and senior management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
