Area Coordinator – Northeast Syria

About the role

The Area Coordinator will lead and support humanitarian programmes in Northeast Syria, ensuring that interventions are delivered effectively and in line with Acted’s mission. This fixed‑term position (12 months) starts as soon as possible and reports to the regional management team.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor programme activities across the assigned area, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and organisational standards.
• Facilitate communication between field teams, partners, and headquarters to align objectives and share best practices.
• Prepare and submit regular progress reports, budgets, and operational updates.
• Identify operational challenges and propose corrective actions to maintain programme quality and impact.
• Support capacity‑building initiatives for local staff and partners.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree (e.g., International Relations, Development Studies, Business Administration).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in programme or project coordination within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with fluency in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
• Ability to work in a challenging, insecure environment and adapt to rapidly changing conditions.
