CME Field Engineer – QA/QC for Data Center Projects

About the role

The CME Field Engineer will perform on‑site quality assurance and quality control inspections for a national data‑center program in Syria. Acting as the client’s owner’s engineer, you will verify that civil, mechanical and electrical works comply with approved designs, standards such as TIA‑942, and relevant codes.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect civil, structural, mechanical and electrical works against drawings and specifications, referencing TIA‑942, ASHRAE and NFPA codes.
• Conduct independent setting‑out and survey tasks using total station and auto‑level instruments to verify levels, dimensions and alignments.
• Check material and mill test certificates against approved submittals before incorporation.
• Witness and sign off Inspection and Test Plan hold points across all disciplines.
• Verify earthing and grounding installations, performing continuity and resistance tests.
• Record commissioning and acceptance tests from Level 1 through Level 5, including Integrated Systems Test.
• Raise and track Non‑Conformance Reports until verified closure.
• Maintain punch lists, re‑inspect rectified items and ensure compliance with safety, permit‑to‑work and lock‑out/tag‑out procedures.
• Organise quality records and provide daily/weekly inspection reports to management.

Required profile

• Technical diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent trade certification.
• 3–5 years of site QA/QC, field inspection or survey experience on building, MEP or infrastructure projects.
• Experience with data‑center or mission‑critical facilities is an advantage.
• Recognised construction safety certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA 30) preferred.
• Syrian nationality required.
