Country Project Coordinator – Emergency / FSL

About the role

The Country Project Coordinator – Emergency / FSL will ensure technical quality, compliance and effective implementation of food security and livelihood interventions in Syria. The role provides technical leadership, supports project managers, and represents the organization in national coordination forums.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and organise project kick‑off and close‑out meetings, develop implementation strategies and work plans.
• Oversee project implementation, monitor output achievement, cash burn rates and ensure contractual obligations are met.
• Conduct field visits, apply a practical M&E system, advise on project adaptations and capture lessons learned.
• Support and review partnerships with implementing partners, resolve disputes and ensure quality delivery.
• Maintain relationships with local authorities, obtain authorisations and ensure respectful beneficiary engagement.
• Review budgets, contribute to procurement plans, ensure timely procurement and compliance with rules.
• Participate in recruitment, performance appraisal, team capacity building and manage interpersonal conflicts.
• Ensure transparency of project records, compliance with code of conduct and security procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian project coordination, preferably in emergency or food security contexts.
• Strong knowledge of humanitarian standards, technical specifications, BoQs and design processes.
• Ability to represent the organization in coordination forums and engage with donors, authorities and partners.
• Experience in budgeting, procurement, logistics and staff management.
• Commitment to PSEAH policies, safeguarding and security protocols.
