Electrical Engineer – Water & Irrigation Infrastructure

About the role

This position provides electrical engineering expertise for critical potable water supply and irrigation infrastructure projects in Syria. The engineer will support design review, procurement, construction supervision, testing, commissioning and quality assurance across power, pumping and solar energy systems.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, verify and review electrical system designs, including power supply, transformers, generators, motors, control panels, protection, cabling, earthing and solar PV installations.
• Develop technical specifications, scopes of work, bills of quantities, cost estimates and design calculations.
• Assist in tender preparation, evaluate proposals and support contract oversight.
• Conduct site inspections, produce detailed reports and ensure alignment with contract terms and international standards.
• Coordinate system testing, commissioning, training and handover to beneficiaries.
• Monitor contractor compliance with Quality Management Plans, HSSE requirements and project schedules.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience applying fundamental electrical engineering concepts to infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with international standards and HSSE guidelines.
• Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, specialists and multidisciplinary teams.
