Senior ELV and Smart Home Engineer

About the role

Al-Farra Tech provides integrated extra-low voltage (ELV), smart home and security solutions, operating in Erbil, Iraq and Damascus, Syria. It is looking for an experienced Senior ELV and Smart Home Engineer to join its Damascus team in a leading technical role covering solution development, project implementation and technical support. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Damascus, working from the office and project sites.

Key responsibilities

• Assess client requirements, design ELV and smart home solutions and select suitable equipment.
• Prepare technical proposals, quotations, bills of quantities (BOQs), drawings and equipment specifications.
• Provide technical support to sales, explain solutions to clients and answer technical questions.
• Supervise technicians and installation teams, allocate tasks and monitor workmanship and progress.
• Configure, program, integrate, test and commission ELV and smart home systems, and diagnose faults.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers.
• Prepare technical documentation, progress reports, as-built drawings and handover records.
• Apply safety requirements, standards and manufacturer guidelines, and train technicians.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of hands-on experience in ELV and smart home systems, preferably with a systems integrator or ELV contractor.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
• Experience supervising technicians and delivering projects from installation through testing, commissioning and handover.
• Ability to read and prepare technical drawings and interpret project specifications.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and coordinate multiple site activities.

• CCTV, access control, fire alarm, intrusion detection and sound/public address systems.
• Smart home automation, including lighting control and HVAC integration.
• IP networking, structured cabling and system integration.
• Installation, configuration, programming, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Preparation of technical proposals, quotations and BOQs.
