Head of Retail Banking (QNB Syria)

About the role

QNB Group, established in 1964 as the first Qatari-owned commercial bank and now the largest bank in the Middle East and Africa, is recruiting a Head of Retail Banking for QNB Syria. The incumbent oversees the development and implementation of the country's retail banking product and service plans, the agreed strategic agenda, and the resources, channels, products and market segments needed to maximise targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the digital channel strategy and adoption roadmap, and oversee digital transformation and omnichannel initiatives
• Manage credit quality, portfolio performance and risk appetite, and manage credit card acquiring and issuing business
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, KYC, AML and consumer protection requirements
• Drive customer acquisition, retention and cross-selling, and analyse consumer behaviour to adjust product positioning
• Oversee the annual budgeting process, retail branch performance and sales volume targets, and report on performing and non-performing products
• Work with senior management, branch managers and external partners such as VISA, Mastercard and insurers
• Maintain SLAs with internal departments, provide accurate data to auditors, compliance, financial control and risk, and resolve staff grievances
• Lead improvement initiatives and promote cost consciousness and efficiency
