Head of Support Syria

About the role

The Head of Support Syria will lead the Norwegian Refugee Council’s support functions across the Syrian Arab Republic. This senior position ensures that administrative, financial and operational support is aligned with NRC’s humanitarian programmes delivering emergency, transitional, early‑recovery and resilience assistance to millions of people in need.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate all support activities, including administration, finance, procurement and logistics, for NRC operations in Syria.
• Ensure compliance with donor requirements, NRC policies and Syrian regulations.
• Manage budgets, financial reporting and resource allocation to maximise impact of humanitarian programmes.
• Lead a multidisciplinary support team, providing guidance, performance management and capacity building.
• Collaborate with programme managers, partners and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth delivery of assistance.

Required profile

• Significant experience in humanitarian support, administration or finance, preferably in conflict‑affected settings.
• Proven leadership and team‑management skills.
• Strong understanding of the Syrian context and the challenges facing humanitarian actors.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to rapidly changing environments.
